Distributor rotor screw
I came across a slight problem when i went to go change it out. The screw that holds the rotor in place started stripping. I stopped and havent touched it since fearing that i will strip it and wont be able to get it out. Anytips on how to get it off a little easier. Yea call me noobish but id rather save myself some trouble before i screw myself out of a distributor and some cash. Any help is appreciated TIA.
The Head of the Screw is stripping? Can you fit a pair of small needle nose in there and twist??
I changed mine recently over the XMas break after driving from AZ to Mississippi.. My Cap and rotor where fubared. That screw, wasn't even screwed in, it fell to the ground when the cap was taken off. The Cap & Rotor were jacked up, multiple places were shaved down and one of the points on the Cap was bent and I don't even know how the rotor touched it. Also the head of the Rotor screw was half gone.
It was a pretty nice piece of work. My Step Dad was completely shock and surprised it was still running, at least as good as it was... Heh
I have pictures of the damage if anyone would like to see....
And sorry for thread jacking..
But try a pair of needle nose pliers.

If it's tight in there, ur not going to be able to get it with pliers. I've had mine strip out before and I had to use an easy out, which you can buy pretty cheep at a hardware store to get it out. You basically drill a hole into it, and start hammering a reversed threaded ez out into the screw, so that one it's in, and u use a wrench to unscrew it, it tightens its grip as the screw loosens. Works great and its cheep.
I replaced mine last night actually
I ended up breaking the end of the rotor off so that I could take pliers to the head of the screw. It worked though.

Yea an ease out is probably your best bet. Any parts store will have one. (autozone, napa, advance, Lowes or home depot, ect.) If it isn't too messed up you may could use an impact hammer but i wouldn't want to go beating on my dist.
ez-out
dremel/weeze a "+" on the head deep enough so the screwdriver won`t strip teh grooves then unscrew it.
sears got a bunch
buy a reverse drill bit
there are a bunch of other ways. go to a local sears or home depot they have tons of broken bolts kit.
