How do i get to the rear speakers in 97 civic hx ?
I have a 1997 Civic HX that i have recently put a whole new sound system in minus the 6x9's in the back. When i went to replace them from the trunk i noticed that the screws were coming from the top so i went to try to take the speaker covers off in the back only to notice that its one big molded piece. So what i am wondering is do i have to take the whole rear 1/2 of my car apart just to replace the rear speakers or is there an easier way ? As always any help would be appreciated.
take a flat screwdriver and take the covers out (put screwdriver from left or right side, not front or back), they are not molded, they should pop out easy.
but even when you will remove these covers 1 screw will be still covered under the rear shelf. but you can use pliers for that.

I had to take my seats, side plastics piece's out (coupe) & the cover over the 6x9's to change mine. Mine were molded in, you can try it but dont pry to hard with a screwdriver if ya dont want it to break
Yeah mine is a coupe also and i had tried to use a flat head to pry the cover off but i didnt want to break it. So is there an easier way other than taking the whole back 1/2 of my car apart ?
