This is pretty newbiesh but how do you take out the rear speakers from a 97 Civic Coupe? (HX). I've searched and like I read but its confusing. So i'm asking if anyone has detailed pictures of how to remove the rear or any other method there might be to removing the rear speakers. Thanks in advanced! Sorry for the newbish question

There are 4 plastic clips, they look like a "V", and have a screw screwed into them. I THINK(emphasis on the word think) you have to pull the speaker cover off to get to them. I'm not exactly sure either. I tired one time and gave up. You might have a little more luck in the audio forum though.

heres what i had to do with my 99

- take your rear seats out
- on the bottom part of your side pannels you will see those platic push in hard as hell to get out clip things, there are some more where the seat backs are
- take your side panles out, and then you have access to the rear deck and it should pull right off

He should just be able to fold the rear seats down, if they are the same as my ex. And if you are REALLY careful, you should be able to just peel the side pieces just enough to get the speaker cover off. But be vewy vewy cauwful. Good luck.

i learn all my stuff from going out and doing it.. you should do it (not trying to be an ***) but really its not that hard and youll learn a lot faster.. who cares if you break a clip or 2.. ohh well.. hot glue works great hahah.. but anyways just take a look at it and make some logical progression

If it is like a 99, pretty sure the rear seats, side panels, and the rear deck must come out.

Exactly I have a 97 and you CANT just take the speaker grills off, you have to remove the entire rear deck lid. So seats come down and sail panels have to come out as well.

It's not that hard to pull it off... it's a bitch to put everything back together...

Like people said...

Back seats must go out... side panels must go out and then you can take of that plastic giant to access the speakers...

Remeber that it is much harder to put it back together than to rip it appart...

When you diassemble it, just look carefuly and remeber where everything goes...
