Default Do i have to worry about this?

i noticed this looking over my car today





I ran my finger along the bottom and it was wet with oil

Gasket leak maybe? i dunno what that attachment to the block is.

That doesn't look too good. However it could be buildup after months and months. Clean it up and keep an eye on it and see how long it takes for it to come back if at all.

what attachment are you talking about? yes check it out soon. it does appear to be a gasket leak. run a compression and leakdown too just to cover all bases

yeah its some kind of sensor, the oil is all around where it bolts on

My primitive eyes cant see anything that isn't circled with a yellow mark done on "microsoft paint".

Well since the residue seems to be on the side of the block i'd definitley check your compression and do a leakdown as mentioned above, but if you find nothing then move to the VTEC solenoid gasket.

Is it sooty at all like exhaust gas deposits? Or just liquidy like oil?

I expanded it...but not sure what you're talking about. Are you talking about the dark area under the VTEC solenoid?

It looks like its comin from the service hole that you use when you change the tct

Clean up the oil with some gunk or carb cleaner and see exctly where it is coming from.

there is oil splattered alllll around that area, it isn't in just one place, after i drove it home from school i ran my finger underneath it and there was fresh wet* oil

maybe i'll take it to honda and see what they say... i have a warranty on it

it should be noted this vehicle is a yr 2000 with 82,000 miles on it
