Default Car wont move.

Ok so i just finished swapping a d16y8 inot my 95 hatch. I took it around the block for a test drive and it ran good. I stopped at a stop sign and i heard a bang come from under the car. After that i put it in gear and the car would not move. What could this be?? O yeah and i used my old single cam axles with this motor so could that be the problem??

was there anything that you did when you came to a stop? did you look under the hood for any visual problems?

Ok..........

So the engine is still running, but it's just not moving? No noises? No smoke? Transmission grinding?

You sure a driveshaft didn't pop out?

WHere under the car did the noise come from? Under the motor, around the shift linkage, near the tires?

So the the motor runs fine, but the car will not move? Check your axles, and make sure they are seats correctly and not broke. Can you put it in 1st (or any gear) and let out on the clutch (and the car not move of course). If the speedo moves when you do this its probably the axles, if it doesnt i would look towards the clutch.

I checked the axles ahd the look fine. Checked the linkage and looks fine. i can put the car in gear without the clutch being pushed to gthe ground and when i do use the clutch and ease off it the car dosent shut down. I will check it better tom. when i have better light. When i stopped all i did was turn a little and the noise came from aroung the transmission.
