Default hey many times can you use arp head studs?

I'll be pulling my head off this weekend to replace a headgasket, and I was wondering if it will be alright to reuse my arp headstuds? They've been reused once.

Alot of people say you need to replace the studs when changing the head gasket personally, i dont think you need to. I have had friends use the same stud 4-5 times without replacing them.... Just make sure when you are tq back down the head you do it in order and to the tq specs so you dont break them. And also when you tq them down in the order make sure its 100% right or you will just blow the gasket again.

What studs do you have, and will you be using oil or ARP moly lube?

For d-series ARP's, the torque spec is 60 ft-lbs with moly lube and 70 ft-lbs with oil.

I was always under the impression that that is why racers went from bolts to studs. They do not stretch as much as bolts so therefore they would be a solid reusable fastener. I have never seen any one post how many times they have reused them though.

Yes, you can re-use them. Just make sure you torque them to the right spec.

I think i've retorqued my studs, 5-7 times. it's been through 3 different motor builds and I've never lost a headgasket. this past summer, it was seeing 28-30psi of boost.
