Default Blox turbo manifold...

Are the blox turbo manifolds decent? Are there any clearance issues? Or would you guys recommend another brand? Im gonna boost my b20b eg hatch. Its GE resleeved to 84mm, cp pistons 9.5 c/r, ARP Head Studs , ACL Bearings, eagle rods, and a stock b20 head. Im looking to get 300-350whp. The turbo will be the GT2871r.

the only problem with meutek its the dip stick has to be trimmed, because the runners are so thick. Also, a tial wastegate will have to use an elbow because the w/g opening is to close to the block. other than that...

all the cast are good....

i've seen revhard and drag cast manifolds crack in the past...maybe due to human error like....dripped oil or coolant on them a few times ... this tends to crack cast iron pretty bad

so far never seen a BLOX manifold crack, but you'll have to make a J-bend for the WG..however, some cases the J isn't neede though.....just trim the WG a bit on the side and all fits good...

good luck

i can tell you exactly why the revhard ones break, its very simple, i used to be a dealer and often spoke to myles back in the day, he is bascally a cheap expletive and has tried to cut corners in the product to reduce cost, in the end he reduced the amount of metal being used in the molds on top of that his molds are VERY old. his manifolds are very light cause he uses so little metal.

i have over 40,000 miles on my blox manifold and no issues at all. i'm not sure what compressor cover is on your turbo, but i had to notch my block for a to4e. also any inlet larger than 3" you will need notch the block for. its a pain to fit a 3" down pipe but not impossible. dip stick fitment is great. some waste gates will fit with no elbow depending on how tall they are. hope this helps

Thanks guys. I just wasnt to sure with the tial wastegate clearance with the hood, i guess i will invest in one of those j-bend elbows. One more concern was the clearance of the dipstick also. LMK.
