OK i have a 93 civic coupe wit a 95 d16z6 swap...It dosnt do this often last time it did this was bout 6 months ago... Well i was in traffic and i had 2 accelerate quickly 2 swithc lanes...When i did the check engine light goes on...After the light being on for about 5 mins... the rpms go real low.. about 2 turn off then jump up.. it will sit normal 4 a few seconds then it will do the same thing again.. it will do this 4 some time... But the car never actualy shuts off.... Then after awhile of it doing this... the rpms stay at 1500rpm on idle and will stay there.. and the car sound lyk a subii... And when im driving i cant past 4000rpm... it will reach 4 but then it sounds like its redlining or something... and the engine gets realy lazy and it eats gas up like nothing... Then 2 day i turned on the car and it was normal no CEL or anything... Anybody kno what this could be??? please help!!!!

 

First thing, check your cel. Sounds like the iacv to me though or possibly the map sensor.

i checked the cel code... at first it was throwing 3 diff codes 1 was v-tec selenoid and some others.. i turned the car off and on and it was throwing just 1 21 i think it was

 

Your map sensor will be on the top of your throttle body, it reads the pressure in the intake manifold.

whats the iacv???

 

idle air control valve. just spray some tb cleaner in your tb and see if that helps.

well i did it and still nothing.. could it be a sensor?? if so which 1 and where is it located???

 

ttt anybody know what it could be???
