I just bought a 06 Civic. How can I tell if it has been lowered? It seems like it bounces ALOT. I didn't notice it when I test drove it, I think because there was more weight in it, with my wife and the salesman. The wheels have been changed to 17" with 50 series tires. I wouldn't think the wheels would make that much difference. Please help.

So these 17" wheels make it ride bad?

 

well you kept the same size rim and made the tire taller. i would have used the stock tires. or stock tire size.

 

Stock has 16" rims so they would have a taller sidewall, right?

 

It may be the tires that make your car ride bumpy. What brand and model are they?

thoes tires are actually rather soft. i just think ur not use to the ride in ur new car.

 

Look to see if you have aftermarket springs/shocks?

 

I looked underneath the best that I can without putting it on a lift. The struts are all black and I even think there was a white part# sticker on them rear springs look like black factory paint.

I don't think it's dropped either, and it's normal for low ride comfort in these cars. I'm used to drive mid size and lux sedans, and my civic feels like it's about to fall apart sometimes on some of the roads around my area.
