Default What is this??? The teal BG-33P beast gets NEW WHEELS!!!!

For those of you who have been around since I came on board, you'll probably hardly believe it. I've had my car for 3.5 years now and have always rocked the stock 94-95 GS-R wheels, which have been gunmetal for over 2 years now.

Well my friend is parting out his Civic and gave me smoking deal on his wheels, 16x7 Rota C10's in Sports Bronze (I think that's what it's called) w/ 205/45 Sumitomo HTR-Z II tires w/ probably 95% tread on them. I'm pretty impressed w/ the tires in the dry so far, haven't had a chance to drive them in the wet yet. Treadwear is 220 (compared to 280 on the ES100's, even though you can't directly compare treadwear ratings from different manufacturers). They also have a nice fat rim protector ridge.

I weighed both setups, my stock wheels w/ 195/50 ES100's are 32.6 lbs. These Rotas w/ these tires are 33.0 lbs. So I'm sure w/ stock size tires or 205/50 tires, the stock wheels would probably weight about the same or maybe even a little more than these 16's.

My car sits about 1/2" higher now (front mudguards don't scrape hardly at all anymore except on the largest speed bumps), but the tires also tuck a bit more inside the fenders....

Well enough talk, on with the pics... once again the camera is my dad's Nikon CoolPix 5000, same one I used for my last night shoot:

What is this, an El Camtegra?

And here's what the inside of my car will be looking like for the rest of this week, until I'm sure I fixed my water leaking problem:

Whatever happened to the stock wheel look

Looks good, but with a bigger wheel/tire what do you think about your tire rubbing/faster wear issues?

I have not experienced any tire rubbing so far.

I've been running at least -2.5 camber in front for over 70K miles and have only been through 2 sets of tires... I don't see it being too bad on these tires either, but I am planning on getting Omni front and rear upper arms and SRR rear toe links so I can dial in the camber riight at -2 in front and -1.5 in back, and be able to more precisely set the toe.
