tire sizes help??
I have a set of wheels with no tires (took old tires off and cleaned the wheels) and I want it to buy a new set of wheels for my wheels/rims.
The wheels/rims size is 15x6.5 15inch.
The old tires are 195-50-15, I would like to know if it is a good idea for me to
buy the new tires size at 195-55-15?
Would it be better than the 195-50-15?
thankz

Wow, that's some bad advice in the reply above.
There are a lot of reasons to get tires that are the same outer diameter as your stock tire size, rather than oversized. One is that they will preserve the accuracy of the speedometer and odometer. Another is that oversized tires will make the car accelerate slower (like getting taller gears). And another is that oversized tires may rub.
For a '92 Civic Si, you should get 195/50-15. It is very close in diameter to your stock size of 185/60-14 (22.68" vs 22.74"). And there are NO advantages to getting the oversized 195/55-15, only disadvantages. Stick to 195/50-15.
