speedo died the other day...
I took i tout, wires are all good and dandy.
I turn the shatf back and forth fast to listen, i could hear a rattle sound. i took the vss off the shaft piece to see that the little stem was sitting ok, or at least it looked ok. put it back together and turnd the shaft back and forth again. no rattle.
Put a rubber band to it and a drill, hit the trigger and it went up to 25mph. it works... put it back in the car, still dead speedo.
My question had to do with that rattle. has anyone ever had that stem fall out inside the VSS?

 

Havent heard of that falling apart like that but iam sure its possible. Search?? There is alot of info on VSS on here... Your vss is prob damaged.
