Default Help me price out my 57 trim build

Im looking for the cheapest or smartest way to build my 57 trim eg. I want about 450whp on race gas reliably. I dont want to cheap out and buy shitty parts but i want the build to be simple and i want to know the best way of going about things and what parts to buy.

My idea is...

-B16 motor/lsd trans with stock sleeves and pistons/rods with stock head/IM/TB...

What I want to know about here is what would be the best way to go about getting the motor/trans that I want to have built. Right now I just have a stock 92' EG, I was going to buy a B16 crate motor complete from a website and then build it but they want like 2000.00 + shipping. Would there be a better way of going about this???

-Some 57 trim turbo kit? I was thinking SLS but its 2900.00 if I get the 44mm WG (i know thats not expensive for a nice turbo kit, but could i put the same thing together cheaper if I bought their manifold/the turbo/misc stuff and had someone local fab up the rest??)

-What clutch??? and will my stock lsd hold my power goals???

-New OEM Honda oil pump, water pump, headgasket, timing belt, tensioner, and tensioner spring.

-Fuel = Injectors and Walbro pump

-Hondata s300 for tuning

-1/2 size raditor?? Brand??

-Hasport solid mounts

-Gauges = Wideband/Boost

-Traction bars?? Brand?? Worth it??

-MT 235/60/15... Hoping to hook on da street

Am I missing anything?

Thanks in advance,

Doug P.

The SLS turbo kit is a great setup for the street/strip. If you buy it, they'll have a fuel setup ready for it as well. I would imagine that you should run either 720 or 880cc injectors and a Walbro fuel pump.

The SLS EG hatch ran the same setup, made 452whp and ran a 10.8 in the 1/4 mile on a simple piston/rod combo.

Sure would, especially w/ a Silver surfer setup for 450whp.

I love how he's worried about 2K for the money to make this power AND reliable.. Hheheh..boy oh boy.

Im not worried about 2k im expecting to spend 10k on my motor/turbo setup. I was just asking, Would you buy a complete b16 then rip it apart to build it? or try to find a b16 block to build then get a head, IM/TB, Harness, and the other misc stuff???

exactly. lol. you need the money if you want the power.

and damn i always see schister, as well as shodan, recommending the silver surfer setup / sls. turbo combo must be great

definitely 880cc injectors as well as a 255 walbro fuel pump. start there with fuel. and definitely a fuel pressure regulator.

i think an exedy stage 2 clutch / fidanza 7lb flywheel would be an okay combo.

but as for 452whp, idk about that on stock internals. you should definitely get low comp pistons, maybe a 9:1 or a 9.2:1 by je or cp. and rods, go with eagle.

also, i would try to upgrade the throttle body to at least a 65mm. the stock size is 62mm (i believe) and i'm pretty sure you'd be able to get another 6-8 whp on just upgrading the tb.

just keep in mind, cheap and fast is not reliable.

good luck boss.

b16 head / gsr block would be nice.

i've read people with a full gsr motor swap to a b16 head and get at least an extra 20 hp because the b16 just flows that much better.
or maybe i misread it. correct me if i'm wrong.

granted it is more work, but it'll bring you that much closer to your power goals.

The Silver Surfer in Action AND SLS's 10.57 piston/rod B16 on a 57 trim...what other proof do you need??
