Default Quick temperature question

I went for a smog gsr check today and barly passed... well the car runs fine except for the fact the temp needle is almost right on the C and after about a long time it went up up a little bit like 1/5 way between C and half way

| = needle
M= middle
H = obviously

C.|.........M..........H

My first suggestion would be to check/replace the thermostat.

any local parts store will have it....i would recommend a failsafe for about $12, gaurantee to stay in the open postition in the event of failure...make sure you replace the rubber o-ring thermostat gasket as well

I didn't change it yet because i was gonna buy tools but it went up 1/4 to near half way on the meter so I actually have no idea right now. It either takes a long long time to warm up or something.
It also takes a long time for other integs?

Does it ever go above 1/4? Mine gets to halfway when I'm driving for an hour when it's at least 80 degrees outside.

yea it went to 1/4 after a long while of driving around, not sure about going "above" 1/4 but if taking a long time is normal then I guess I may not need to change it =\
