Overheating problem?
Okay so this girl says that her car overheats while driving long distances.. She took it to the mechanic and he said there wasn't enough oil and she blew a headgasket and said it would cost 900 dollars haha. So my question is what might the real problem be and how would we check for them?
it would help to have more info, ie... car type, mileage, year, motor size.
when was the last time the thermostat was replaced? coolant flush?
water pump? does it leak coolant?
as radiators get old, certain parts of them can get clogged, iv'e seen a gsr head gasket blow due to this.

My radiator is currently messed up. The gauge doesn't show that its overheating, but its leaking out of the seams on the top of the radiator. Any way to check the thermostat?
