clutch problems
alright i searched and couldn't find a specific answer to my problem.
I have a 94 ls thats bone stock with 142k on it. All of a sudden my clutch wouldn't or barely engage. My pedal is sagging down and not raising back up after engaging it. I can't get into gear at all anymore so I'm trying to diagnose it. In haynes it said that the fluid may be low ( I still need to check), or the master slave cylinder would be bad. I had no grinds at all and the clutch grabbed good all the way up to this point. So I'm trying to figure out if it is just low on fluid, if i need to bleed it or if my clutch is completely done and in need of replacement. It still goes into all gears fine when the car is off. Its been about 0 degrees over here in good old wisconsin the past few days and thats when this started.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks

when your clutch pedal gets mushy then your clutch fluid is low so you should probably check your cmc see if its leaking fluid in the cabin then go from there. also u should get a helms
I would guess that the clutch MC..as previously stated...may be bad. Also you could have a bad slave cylinder (which is on the transmission) or a line could be lose, or broke/rusted through from the MC to the slave cylinder, allowing fluid to leak out. Good luck!
Something kinda like that happened to me several months back. I replaced my cmc and my slave cylinder with all new lines and still nothing! I broke down and took it to a shop and it ended up being the spring in the middle of the clutch. It got bent to the point to where I had to get a new clutch. I didnt drive it hard at all either. I was actually pulling into a car show when this happened! That sucked alota @$$!!! Hope this helps! Good luck!

That would be my last guess as well. It is much easier to replace or at least inspect the other items first, but if all else fails, this could be it. Good info and good luck!

When this happened, did it become better when you bled the system. I am having the same problem and am wondering if it is infact a bad spring. But to me it doesn't make sense because everytime I bleed the lines it becomes like new again. I have no leaks, new cmc and slave, and the problem keeps coming back. I have a post going over this issue. tell me if it sounds like a F's spring. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2199864

Other than a leaky line/slave/master, your clutch may have imploded and the pressure plate is jammed in.
The pressure plate is what pushes against the throwout bearing, which pushes the clutch fork, which pushes the fluid back up the lines, and finally pushes your pedal up.
Don't try to force it into gear unless you want to burn up the tranny synchros.

Well I’m not really sure what you mean by an Imploded clutch. All day yesterday I had to pump the hell out of the pedal to get it into gear. This Morning I had no Problems what so ever. I could even bring the RPMs up and still, nothing was wrong with the clutch. Keep in mind there has been some cold temps out here in the Northwest. But I have had the car for almost three years and this is the first year it has acted up. Now unless my clutch is in and out of some Purgatory, I can't understand how it could go from imploded to fine and dandy. I would think that I should always be grinding gears on a daily basis, however yesterday was the first peep I’ve got out of this little problem in a week since I swapped out the slave and bled the system again, for the fourth time. I am at a loss, but it's hard to believe that the hardware is that damaged. Or maybe you can better explain to me what you meant by "imploded".
New Slave, new Master, no leaks in the lines, flushed four times. Problem still keeps coming back here and there. Im going to try flushing again, but i've already gone through three bottles of fluid.
