Default F/H-series downdraft carburetor???

I was thinking of building a manifold similar to this one, instead of using just an H-series manifold

Then I thought about using a smallish 4-barrel carb, the smallest one i've been able to find is a 400cfm. What do you guys think, ps, this will be on my built F22A6.

Theres a fine line between bad *** and rediculous, I think it would take a dyno chart to convince me one way or the other. I know that type manifold kills on all motor K's, thats gotta be the first time I've seen a setup like that on a non K motor. I'd go single big *** throttle body vs. carb though... Carbs are cool if you have the time and patients for them, but short of bisi who would tune it? Need a throttle body like this

I've been thinking about this since I read it last night and saw this picture. Im pretty intruiged since my F has a very similar manifold design. There is a lot of room for improvement that I can see from that photo though, since its a round throttle body centered on top of a flat top plenum with lots of dead space from side to side. The image of an LT-1 throttle body came to mind, its two smaller butterflys in one housing, I think it would be a much smoother flowing unit with less turbulance and even greater incoming air capability. Maybe the next best thing to ITB's. I put a wanted add out for a stock LT-1 throttle body so I can try this out.

Since I've never had one of these in hand, I'm only guessing it would be a good size. Since you've had one before do you think it would fit nicely on there? Off the top of your head do you think it would fit on a plenum block off plate or would it hang off the sides?

you mean an f/h plenum plate like the one above? If so, yes it would fit nicely.

you're asking if an h-series manifold is similar to a y7... no, they are not similar at all.

no i meant

the d16y7 engines have the "downdraft" style, and in the d series world are seen has crap intake minis becuase they do not flow to well

and i do know that the d will not bolt to the h

well, the t-body pointing up is the only thing those manifold designs have in common.
