Default eg si gsr swap done getting code 22

i got my car donewitha gsr swap the car runs fine but somtimes it feels like it doesn't have power around 7500-8000 rpm couple my friends say that my vtec is not kicking in. i have a cel and its 22 the vtec pressure switch but the motor has oil and i changed the oil today can anyone help me.

You should be able to hear vtec fairly easy on a b-series. If you have a CEL then vtec wont work. Try changing the pressure switch since thats what the code is for.

what do you have done to the motor to think you should see more power that far up?

as far as i know the power curve should be right about 7000 rpm anyway...

its a stock gsr but i really dont hear vtec kick in like my friends type r and hes stock type r in a eg hatch

not always true it depends on what code.

I had the same problem, but mine was because my motor was a Jdm Itr motor witch doesnt even have a vtec pressure valve, but the Usdm ecu was looking for it therefore throwing a code. I had to wire up the vtec pressure valve wire from the ecu into the vtec solinoid wire so vtec wouldnt cut out..

does vtec even engage in your gsr swap, and is it a JDM model or what.

Mine would work as well until it got the code, (usually hard pulls through 3rd or 4th) then it would disengage.

well i did the pressure switch bypass and the cel turned off and vtec is working
