Aftermarket radio, wanting to retain dome light and keyless
Hey guys, I'm sure this has been asked before, and I'd really appreciate some help or tips with this.
I bought my 98 EX a few months back, and it came with an aftermarket head unit. My keyless has never worked (I knew that was built into the stock stereo), but now I'm being told it is also the reason why my interior light doesn't work when the doors are open.
I searched the forum and did find this thread:

While that gives me some help, I've never messed around with the stereo setup in the car, and was wondering how I would go about either:
1. Getting past having to get the stock stereo and getting the keyless and light to work without the stock headunit
OR
2. Hooking up the stock stereo to get both to work, while retaining my aftermarket setup.
Probably a pretty noob question, but I'd really like some tips or insight into it before I start taking **** apart.
Thanks guys!!

You can leave a stock head unit tucked back behind the dashboard to retain the keyless and dome light functions. That's what most '96-98 Civic owners are doing.

Just giving him an example, quickest one I could find.
And since when does BB have cheap harnesses?
Last time I looked at any of the ones hanging on the rack, they were $20+.
