overheating=blown headgasket??
i was driving on the high way and the u hose busted and my car violently overheated i got to the red for a second smoke was coming out of my valve cover. i fixed the hose and everything was all good till i drove on it hard on the freeway it started to over heat a little just went a little over half way then it would be normal then do it again and it does it intown sometimes if i drive on it for a while. is my head gasket starting to go?
is your car smoking at all? had the same symptoms in my buddys ef ls hatch and it had thick white smoke coming out the tail pipe and ended up being the head gasket so it a def possibility. i would change your thermostat FIRST though since its alot cheaper then a head gasket. lol anyways good luck.
no no smoke i dont think the headgasket is bad. if the thremostat was stuck open it would over heat? the car doesnt over heat anymore though.
