Default motor rebuild

I spun a bearing in my 95 gsr so the rebuild begins! I would like to do the build for turbo but I have a few questions first. I plain on getting je piston, eagle rods, je intake manifold, type r cams, block guard, acl bearings, arp head studs, arp rod bolts. When I get the motor rebuild and put together would it be safe to drive on the motor with out the turbo and with out a tune until I get the money to tune it? Then I really don't want to get the block sleeved would a block guard be alright to use if a machine shop installs it correctly? I have heard some good and bad things about them. Once I get a turbo kit put together and get it tuned I was thanking about getting hondata I should be able to reach at least 300 hp reliable right?

Forget the cam and intake mani for now. If you are talking about stock compression, there is no reason you can't run on the stock map. Other than that, I would not trust any change on that $$$ setup without a tune.

It is gonna be low compression so it would not be safe to drive on it with out getting it tuned even if no turbo yet? I was going to replace the oil pump, water pump adn all that stuff I'm gonna get new

Yes, it will totally run fine with all of those parts.

... No, I'm kidding. Save up for the tune then start installing.

Type R cams?? They have to much overlap for boost. You will need turbo cams.

They have more overlap compared to other stock cams, but its not too much. They will work just fine
