Default Clutch pedal issues....

Alright....let me start by stating the problem,
my pedal acts as though its not engaging all of the way when I try to start it....its starts but with a wierd little grind with it.Originally the problem started when my clutch master cylinder was leaking on the inner firewall,so I replaced that and it helped, but did not fully remedy,so the I replaced my slave cylinder thinking maybe that was the problem, but it didnt really help that much....then I adjusted the pedal itself, and it still does it.......

I dont really notice anything while Im driving but it happens nearly everytime I go to start it and it just sounds ghetto.Does anybody have any ideas on what could be causing this?I know that its a safety feature so u dont start your car in gear, but is there anyway to check/dissconect the sensor that reads the pedal engagement.I at my whits end with this thing and any help would be great.

is the clutch not enguageing fully or dissenguageing fully? (remember the clutch is onstantly enguaged and dissenguages when you depress the pedal) wha symptom does the car have besides not "feeling" right. is it hard to shift into gears like the clutch is dragging? if so that could be caused caused by linkage problems, incorrect adjustments, a tight pilot bearing, deffective clutch assembly, or rusted or dammage input splines.

becaus you said you replaced both the master an slave cylinders and adjusted the pedal i am willing to bet it is adjusted inproperly. it may still have some air traped in the lines after being bled and you may have over adjusted to try to compensate.

is the car hard to shift? how much freeplay does the pedal have?

might not be your problem but Ive had kinda the same problems. Just kinda feels like you cant get all the air out of the system. I noticed lastnight that my clutch pedle bracket was stressed cracked and flex to the sid alil when it was depressed. So in turn its not letting the clutch pedle go fully down but it feels like it is. Kinds hard to explain but maybe it might help you out

Wow u might be right^^^^^^ beacuse I couldnt get the top left nut all the way tight when I replaced the master.....and it could be adjusted incorrectly(me).

So I am going to try both, and that IS EXACTLY what it feels like, like I cant get all of the air out of the line when Im starting it even though I know thats not the case....and my pedal engagement is really high when driving around town, and Ill bet that is from my error in trying to adjust the pedal height.I definately be messing with it this weekend. Thanks for the insight, keep it coming if anything else pops into your heads. Thanks

Well I adjusted the clutch pedal again and now it feels fine as far as engagement point and play, which is good because it was engaging really high......BUT this still did not remedy the problem while starting it still does the same thing.I even tightened down that nut all of the way on the master that I couldnt reach before.

Im over it,Im going to take it to my mechanic friend when I get some time.It sounds funny but,Im just about ready to go buy a new used 350z like an 05 or 06 with low miles, because My lude just pisses me off all of the time, its always some little bs that just drives me crazy and requires me to climb upside down and fit into contortionist like positions to try to adjust a clutch pedal,or remove a climate control...etc.But because its a 15 year old car IT IS ALWAYS SOMETHING!
And I just think it would be better on my constitution in general to have something less troublesome to drive to get milk.Hahaha

I will keep my lude because I love it and it runs great, plus I have alot of time and dollars in it,but I think Im going strip it and race it all of the time(at local 1/4 track),and use the new car as my DD.Any 1 in norcal selling a newer 350?

try starting your car in neutral and see if the problem still occurs, It almost seems to me that the starter gear may not be engaging or retracting properly.
