dx dizzy work on z6?

Default dx dizzy work on z6?

was wondering if my dx dizzy would work or my z6
its in a 95 ex coupe.my z6 went dizzy went out and i wondered i i could use a dx dizzy for now untiolle i get the z6 one.i wanted make sure first before i tried it\\

I think all the SOHC distributors are interchangeable as long as they are the same OBD generation.

All the dizzies are the same except OBD-I, OBD-II, and OBD-IIB all had different plugs on the end to which the harness plugs in (which can be done quickly, cheaply).

BUT

You're still **** outta luck, as the only one that wasn't the same (physically, not the wires) as the every other is the OBD-I VTEC (D15Z1, D16Z6, and D15B). It won't work. The OBD-I VTEC used different distributor bolt patterns.

i had a dx dizzy on my z6 and it wouldnt reach the correct timing.

had it advanced all the way and it was still short.

put a z6 on it and it did fine.

so no, they wont work unless you file the holes on the dizzy a little longer

i do this all the time. even between sohc internals and bseries internals. everything inside is either phillip screws or female connectors.
