Default gsr rotating ***. in ls block

I have a 97 gsr in my da right now and it is burning oil really bad due to exessive piston to wall clearance. instead of re boring the gsr block and buying new oversized pistons i was wondering if it is possible to put the gsr crank rods and itr pistons in an ls block that i have laying around. im thinking it will fit but i would like some other opinions. thanks

1. How do you know it is excessive piston-wall clearance? Has it already been rebuilt?

2. Why would you use an LS block. You lose the factory girdle, oil squirters, and internal oil channels to the head. On top of that, by using the GSR crank, you lose the slight stroke the LS crank provides.

it will work fine...i had the same issue about 4 years ago...cracked the sleeve on my gsr block.. took everything out of it and put it into a ls block i had.. has been making 210hp/139trq n/a for the past 4 years with the new owner of the car with no issues what so ever.......

Curious to know isn't stock gsr stroke about 87MM and LS is 89MM?

Even if you do swap you gsr internals into a ls block, you should hone the block to ensure the rings seat. I would just rebuild the gsr bottom end, go overbore and retain your oil squirters

The gsr block is already .25 over bored it was rebuilt almost a year ago, the dumb expletive that did the bore and hone bored it to much for the pistons he did a 250 grit hone in place off the 400 it was supposed to be, and that rough hone tore up the rings. i could just buy .50mm over pistons and use the gsr block but don't know where i can find cast pistons that size and i don't have the money for forged. and yes (all motor teg) of course i would bore and hone the ls block and use the os itr pistons from the gsr. does any one know where i can get some good .50 mm over sized pistons for the gsr block im looking for a comp ratio of around 11 to 11.5:1. i figure im going to have to spend extra money either way, if i use the ls block i would have to buy the ls vtec kit and if i rebuild the gsr i would have to buy new os pistons, might as well use the gsr. any input would be appreciated.
