Default Cigarette lighter/power outlet blows fuses

In my '00 Si the power outlet (spot where the cigarette lighter goes) stopped working.

One day it just stopped working. I checked the fuse and it was blown. So i put in a new fuse, tried it out the the cell phone charger, but it didn't work.

I checked the fuse after trying it, and it was blown again.

All the wires look fine.

What would be causing this?

It just blows the fuse before ever working at all, regardless of what i plug into it.

use the phone charger properly, or get an adapter for the socket t make it a true utility plug instead of using a cigarette lighter socket as a utility plug the propblem is that you are plugging in a phone charger or other device in there, the reason why is that the contacts on the side of the barrel of the charger happen to line up to the positive contacts that run up the side of the barrel of the lighter socket, all you need to do is turn it 90 degrees so the contacts on the charger dont short the positive to the nearby ground which is the entire walls of the barrel.

There actually is no cigarette lighter. It says accessory power outlet, or something like that right on the cover for it.
