check the fuse inside the radar detector plug or plug something else in you know works.
if it still doesn't work, make sure it's plugged in behind the dash and check for power at the connector.
if no power at plug then check fuse at fuse panel again then trace wires.
still doesn't work, and you haven't a clue why then take it to an audio shop...

does your radio work?
i think the radio and cig adapter share the same fuse
I believe there is a fuse box under the hood by the battery that has a fuse for the cig. adapter.... it will give a diagram on the cover box

from taking the dash apart many times, I can say that miahmouse had the right idea with the wire coming loose behind it.. its not on there tooo tight, and worth checking.
