whats the best way to power up accessories?
ok so far i have been told the best way to power accessories is : to run of the battery w/ a inline fuse, take a male spade connector connect it to a open slot in the fuse box, and take the metal ends of the wire and wrap it around 1 arm of the fuse then plug in the fuse.
i was also told to tap? in to a wire using a t-tap (ex cigarette lighter), but when i tried that i kept popping fuses.

You keep poping fuses because you probably put it after the fuse rather than before (in terms of the current flow).
This is what I suggest you do. The fartest most empty open pin on our fuse boxes is clea +12 from the batter. What you do is get a wire to go from that pin, to another ATC Fuse Block that is avaliable at any pepboys, autozone, etc. for around 7 or 8 bucks. Most hold 6 fuses. It has a power in point, and then 6 fuses, and 6 spades to connect your wires to.
This is what I use to hook up all incar electronics, and mount this thing where its easily accessible.

are you talking about the open slots under the dash? or under the hood? or couldnt i just power the atc fuse box by running a wire to the battery?

Check out this picture, its the A slot. That slot has a constant 12+ from the battery.

I believe its refered to as +B in the Helms manual. However, the fusebox has a 40 amp (I beleive, not 100% sure) fuse, its one of the larger square ones that is in the under hood fuse box.

So as long as we don't draw more than 40amps we're good. Well that sounds pretty good. I'm gonna pick a distribution block tomorrow

I have 3 distributor blocks running in my car, 2 for alarm and 1 for all my electronics and what not.
Just make sure you find a good easily accesible location that is a sturdy point to secure to, or else it gets nasty.
