Default Running Isolators on Cockpit mounted gauges

According to the manufacturer each gauge should use an isolator inline with fluid being monitored, so that those fluids are not run through the car. How important is this ? Have any of you not done it this way ? Is it worth paying the extra money for the isolator ? Im going to be doing oil pressure and fuel pressure.

I didn't have to that because my gauges are electronic

I wouldn't worry so much about oil, just use braided stainless line. I would not run a fuel line into the cockpit. For that one use an isolator.

Or just use electronic gauges, which will be easier to route anyway!

I'm in with the electronic gauges crowd. One day you might be driving, lose your oil pressure reading, and assume something went wrong with the gauge. Have fun "mopping" oil up from the carpet and in the dash and all....eww. Aren't isolators fairly expensive?? In the end it may be close to the price point to just go elec.

The only gauge I would feel comfortable running mechanical is vacuum.

Could you run the isolator right off a fitting like this ? Its 1/8 NPT so i guess it would work right ?
