1. You're right - 99-00 Si harness lacks EGR anything

2. Why are you putting the harness in the car?

3. What ECU are you going to run?

4. What engine?

If the ECU is not going to look for it then block it off. Just make a piece out of steel and drill and shape it and bolt it up. Copy the EGR valve base when you pull it.

Wait... did I say that?

first off, like someone else said, why are you putting an si harness on the car? second, your car will run fine without the egr, except for it won't get quite as good gas milage and you will get a cel. And for whoever asked, I beleive that we are talking about a y5.

You might want to rethink your choice. In CA motor swaps have to be the same year or newer. You can not put an older motor in a newer car. You can't even BAR ref it.

Now if it's a track only car then......I will shut up.

yeah I did, but when you posted your reply, I was typing mine, so I didn't read until after I had posted. jackass . Anyways, if you end up changing your plans and hooking up the egr valve, you should clean out the egr plenum because they get plugged up with carbon and will effect your gas milage, as will simply unhooking the egr valve. When my plenum was plugged up, my engine would run so lean that it would missfire when the egr valve was open, so I unplugged it for a tank of gas(until i had time to fix it) and it took my milage from 40 down to 33 or so.
good luck

You don't need to ref a motor if it is an exact stock replacement. And if it is older, well, nobody will ever know. But even if you upgrade SOHC motors, there is a VERY good chance that your typical smog check station will never know you made the change.
