oil pan issues.. IMPORTANT..

Default oil pan issues.. IMPORTANT..

ok so got ab16 needs new oil pan.. easy enough i get a ls oil pan off a blown motor.. well the bottom has bits of the rod that it **** out... my ? is.. is there any thing that i can clean it with that will get all the shaving out. bc i damn sure dont want them in my motor.. liek i herd gasoline and a magnet.. so thats somthign that i can try.. if u got any ideas let me knows.... thanks HT

That "gunk" degreaser, lacquer thinner possibly, and i dont see a problem with gasoline. Air hose may help blow it out as well.

good idea.

its not like i cant get it out i just dont wanaa leave some under the trays and f the new motor i just got.. u know i just wana be carefull bc its going in my dd

I hear ya, the degreaser and thinner, ect. will just pretty much make it dry+clean it, and whatever left will pretty much fall out

yeah, if you don't have access to actual parts washer, then probably just cans of brake cleaner and thorough washing will do the trick.

true dat.. my boy owns a shop about hr away but its a long drive to was an oil pan.. thanks guys once i get it in ill post pics..
