Oil Pan Tap/Fitting Look OK?
i got a turbo kit and i got a tapped oil pan already, just wondering if this is ok, not to low, or am i going to have to tap my oil pan off the motor and get a new fitting, thanks guys

Mine is about 1/4" of an inch from the lip of the oil pan where it connects to the block. If it's too low your return won't be flowing well and you can damage your goodies. The return is the one thing you don't want to skimp on...do it right and have no worries later

yea true that, i just decide to release my self of grief later on down the road, so im just going to tap my pan thats on the motor now, if i need to buy a virgin pan for some reason then i will, there everywhere, i just need another return fitting so i can drill it, now wat am i going to do with this pan??

Cut the fitting off and weld a plate over it and either keep it or sell it cheap to someone. Plenty of guys would probably buy it for cheap.

looks high enough to me, not by much and i would have put it higher, but i honestly think youll be fine. my moroso pan comes pre-tapped the same exact height from the top

What type of turbo are you using? Mine is in the same spot, maybe even lower and I have no problems at all. I do run a GT BB turbo which needs very little oil.
Also, who knows how much oil is being pumped through the system when the motor is running? 1 quart, 1/2, maybe 1.5?
Something to think about...

its a garrett turbo t3/t4, the pan is a GSR oil pan, but that is also true, about how the oil pick up is picking up the oil and going through the motor. that is something to think about. still not to sure though
