damn, and I thought my Civic that averages 40mpg and a high of 48.7mpg was good! lol, jk. I assume you meant 250-260 miles per tank? How many gallons of gas do you put in when you get that mileage?
To calculate you MPG you take the miles that you drove on a full tank and divide it by the amount of gallons you put into the tank to fill it back up. Example: 260 miles / 9.1 gallons = 28.6mpg.
Does anyone know what the 98 LX is rated at for miles per gallon? Highway? City?

if you average 13gals at a fillup and you are getting an average of 255/tank you are getting just under 20mpg
is your car V6?
my 98 LX V6 got an average of 25mpg in mostly city driving so I would guess that 23 was city average for that car. highway was 34mpg
things that will cause bad milage
clogged air filter
t-stat stuck open causing torque converter not to lock up
low tire pressure
bad o2 sensor(s)
dragging brakes (burning brake smell)
bad fuel
time for new plugs
dirty injectors
things i would do
clean intake with seafoam and dump some in the gas tank to clean the injectors
check air filter
check tire pressure
check engine operating temp
inspect brakes
inspect and change plugs
new cap and rotor (i4) or pre 2000 V6

no, not unless you have a stuck caliper or parking brake cable that is keeping the brakes engaged, that could cause a drop in MPG.

i think i have a stuck caliper because my driver brake pad is like almost on metal and the passanger side looks almost new.. so i dont know if they just change the passenger side or i have a stuck caliper on the driver side.. but back to the gas to i fill up the tank it was 11 gallons and $33 flat.. so i did the math (lol) if i get 250-260 in this tank. im gettin atleast 22-23 city and highway mix together. so this is right or what? thankss!!!
