57 trim or 60 trim
hi honda-tech guy, my name lamont. this is my current setup:
91 honda civic hb
bonestock lsvtec
gsr cams
log manifold
35mm tial wastgate
50 or 57 trim turbonetics turbo
boost@10 psi
hondata s300
kteller 3in exhause to a apexi turbo 3in exhause
alright my future plan is to keep the bottomend bore stock and just put piston and rods in it. my car is a DD and sometime it may see the track. the horsepower that im gunning for for the streets is about 360+ and at the track my be 400+ horsepower. I'm not going jump on a certan turbo bandwagon, so i want to get a garrett turbo. the turbos that im looking at is the t3/to4e 60 trim w/.82 a/r,t3/60-1w/.63 a/r, and t3/to4e 57 trim w/.63a/r. these turbos is at cheapturbos.com.I'M NOT GOING GET ANOTHER TURBONETICS TURBO AGAIN cause i have my reason
. i forgot to add that im going rev it at 8000 rpm. alright people what yall opioion on these units and who has them on there lsvtec. thanks

The only real difference between the two is the compressor wheel. They use the same turbine and housings. The 57 trim is a 48 lb/min turbo; whereas, the 60 trim is a 50 lb/min turbo.
Basically the 60 trim is good for a little more top end power than the 57 trim, but you're going to have a little more lag w/ the 60. For your power goals, the 57 trim .63ar would be fine. I've seen it do 450whp on a piston/rod GSR and it still had more to give.

You had narrowed yourself down to a few good choices...all of which would suit your goals well without killing your budget.
...Its a shame that more people dont think of the trusty old 57 trim for builds like yours
