Default *Deck Problem *AGAIN*!

Hello Guys

Recently I posted a topic about my deck not functioning correctly. I recently just purchased another deck and it has the same problem. I tried 2 different decks but I still have the same problem.

*Problem, Only the remote control can function the head unit. The head unit will only allow me to eject and change the source. I can do nothing more than that. I also have to re-insert my face plate every time the car is turned on in order to use the remote.

Things I have done to try to fix this.

- Get a new harness and did the re-wiring together.
- Checked ALL my fuses.
- Try 2 different head units.

Any one have any ideas?

Thanks again.

Also, what is the MM&Y of car it is in?
It is quite a coincident that 2 diff. HUs would have the same exact problem, much less two diff. brands with the same problem. 94

Then they would be authorized dealers of the product you are getting so we know they are new HUs.
Are you using a harness adapter, like one of these... http://www.scosche.com/product...D/295 and are you sure it is wired in properly? 94

As I said, it is a coincident that you would have the same exact problem with two HUs, same make and model, maybe just a bad run, but a diff. make with the same exact problem is more then a coincident, you would think it has to be something common to both brands, leaving only the install, wiring and physical mounting of the HUs as the common factor.

Only thing I can suggest is to pull the HU and with a multimeter check/confirm that the wiring is correct, that you have a good 12V+ on the acc. and constant leads, that the ground is good, that all 8 speaker leads, [4 sets] are wired properly to the proper speakers and there are no shorts to ground, power or each other on any one of the 8 speaker leads. that the illumination lead is properly caped off if not being used. 94

BTW, Are you using a proper back support on the HU?
What is the MM&Y of the car?

It may be the correct harness, but it may also be pinned wrong, I have seen that more then a few times.

When metering, pay close attention to the speaker leads. 94
