Im in the process of rebuilding a gsr that has rod knock. I'm gonna replace the rotating assembly with the LS to gain some torque and compression. I'm not sure nor ever done this so will the above setup work? Is the piston gonna be out the out the hole and touch the quench area?ill be using a oem 3 layer headgasket

 

it will work, but you will have to remove and cap off the oil squirters. they wont clear the crank. the deck hight of a gsr and ls block are the same so it will be fine.

 

do u think ill have issues with the block girdle also?

 

nope, i run a gsr girdle and mains in my ls/vtec.

 

bout wat compression ratio you lookin at with that setup?
