Porting the TB and IM? Is there any power gains?
My buddy says he did both, with a dremel and says he feels a diff on the butt dyno. Is it possible to get much on his LS swap?

With a dremel on a TB? not a chance. On an IM, highly doubt he would ever feel it in the but dyno. At best he might gain a couple hp but not feel it. Ever hear of the placebo effect?

this guy said he used a drill w/ a whole set of cutting or sanding stones...he said something about needing a bigger throttle plate cuz it was the bottleneck in the entire intake stroke of the motor ie: everything else is ported huge, according to him, and yes, placebo probably was the only thing he felt.
I just had my car dynotuned two days ago. The person that tuned it told me I could get quite a bit more power out of my built GSR if I had a larger throttle body (either after market or S2k) and if my current Skunk 2 i/m was ported to match it. There are definitely power gains to be seen there; it wouldn't be the first place to start though with so many other power adders having a higher bang for the buck.
Take a look here. This a post from some time ago that might shed some light on the matter. Keep in mind this porting and polish was NOT done with a Dremel.
