Ive used their dyno many times as its the closest to me and john is pretty cool. However its a dyno jet dynamometer, meaning like an accelerometer. It can only compute WOT power/TQ

Dynos like dyno dynamics and dyna pak can enforce load on the car to be able to tune partial throttle.

I go there. The dyno charts may only read WOT, but John knows what he is doing. My Hondata tune was AWESOME at partial throttle and that's with 550cc on a N/A vehicle for now (going boost very soon).

BTW, those guys definitely know what there doing. Due to the heavy (acedemic) load associated with nursing school, I had to hand over my project to them. Be on the look out next month for power updates.

Theortically speaking if you tune at WOT but going through the different load/boost stages at different RPMs so that your map is fully tuned at WOT, your map should basically be tuned at partial throttle because the ECU auto calibrates between WOT and partial throttle.

John Gadd tuned my car about a year and a half ago. I couldn't have been happier w/ the tune.

our dyno is inertial dyno and thus is not capapable of placign a controlled aprt throttle load ont eh vehicles drivetrain. however this does not prevent us from tuning the part throttle drivability portions of your vehicle. you simply only drive the car at part throttle on the dyno, just like you are accelerating at part throttle on the street. we tune all cars part throttle driveability this way. i think our customers' opinions in this thread speak for themselves.

call us to schedule your tuning.

thanks for your interest,

What's up Scott?

I notice in your signature it says your Nissan lasted 6000 miles, did something happen to it? Or is it still going? That thing was sweet.

I was gonna go there to tune my car back in the days until my friends bailed out on me so i didnt want to end up driving there by myself. Instead, i went to balance performance in georgia. WoW, was that a mistake. Ended up costing an arm and a leg and still wasnt finished so i bought a wideband o2 and started tuning with my laptop on the street. Man, that was fun...good ol days.

Anyways, i've only heard good things about secret services for the past couple years

So the partial throttle tuning can be done just as good on a dyno as it could if you were on the street driving around? whats the rate for a tune at Secret Services? IF, i send the ECU to you get chipped.

I was there once, to say "hey" to John but I missed him. The shop looked good and from what I hear he's very knowledgeable. If I lived there, he would tune my car.

poor little single walbro 255HP couldnt keep up with the fuel demands of 540whp. so she went a bit lean in #4. hurt the stock rings. she held on for a while...but you can only expect so much pushing 540whp on a stock block. i'm not mad. it finally gave me the kick in the *** to get a built motor going. 10.5:1 CR CP pistons, AEBS bomb proof sleeves, Tomei Solid lifter conversion, Tomei 280deg, 12.5 lift solid lifter cams, cryoed rocker arms, full balance. she should be a real monster now!!

Nice
How much power you think you can make with that compression on pump gas? I am using very similar C/R with my boost project.

Secret Services is a good shop and the people there (Scott, Matt, John, Kyle) get a from me. I use to go up there quite a bit and never saw any problems. Now that I am farther away and work more I am not up there as much (sick today so no work). John helped me with my first setup and I would have no one else in the area do my Hondata tuning. Give them a call and talk to them.

the engine should do 400 to the wheels at 10 psi. on 93 octane. if not it will be close (390 ish). i dont plan on runnign anymore than 10 psi on pump gas. hell my old setup did 360 on 10 psi with:

smaller cams,
smaller exhaust side on turbo,
8.5:1 CR
less RPM

hrmm...i think i should get there no problem

I was actually discussing the PT tuning with Mase last night. Though not exact 100% perfect, I can get the PT tuning close enough to get excellent gas mileage (similar to stock) and perfect drivability without the use of loading or street tuning. By tuning for idle and cruise, then tuning for WOT, and extrapolating the numbers in between, the fueling a/f ends up being very similar to stock and in some cases, better. I suppose I could drive around a car all day, doing auto tune or street tuning to get 100% perfect tunes for PT, but the fact is, you wouldn't know the difference, but you sure as hell wouldnt want to pay for the bill at the end of the day

thanks for all the positive remarks everyone Support like this keeps the good guys in business

So you can get a nice tune for both partial and WOT on a dyno at SS and be fine for driving everyday huh? hrmmm. If its gonna give me a tune similar to street tuning then i mine as well being that you see a dyno for fine tuning. what do you think? what A/F would you have to tune for on a dyno to get 11.8,12:1 on the street. being that the variables are different? i know this is off topic, sorry.
