Default wondering about replacement of TB...

Hey guys I just started to disassemble my b16a motor in my si and replace my exhaust/intake valves that where in causing my 3rd cylinder to lose compression. and my car is throwing a code all at the sametime for the TPS sensor. i have heard and read that the tps sensor is supposed to be replaced with the TB. cause they are calibrated to each other, not sure if that is false. but since i am replacing the 4 valves i am going ahead since the motor is apart to replace my valves, cam, and headgasket with all performance part for my turbo build that i am starting shortly. but my question is since i cant go to honda to buy a TPS sensor without the TB with it, would u all just suggest to buy a bigger TB for my turbo build since I will prolly have to replace the TB anyways? or just look around to try and find a TPS for sell? thanks

really depends on your goals as far as a bigger tb goes. i would just use the original size. if your gonna be under the 400 ish area. aftermarket tb's are usually more a hassle than they are worth anyway. and omni sells a replacement tps sensor for them, they are a sponsor here check with them.

well my goals are over 400 for this car. i want it to be a jdm sleeper, no big flashy stuff on the outside just jdm exterior and interior parts and built turbo motor. but it iwll be a little while before i start the turbo build officially. that is why i wonder if i should change the TB now or later on when i get more into the build. cause i am gettin the turbo kit first before the bottom/top end. thanks for the help i will look up a sponsor for those sensors too thanks.

Don't necessarily just take my word on the TB, i would still look into it. I dont think i would do a bigger TB without an intake. I would try to keep the stock TB if i were you. Im sure that many people have made over 400 with stock TB but i know tons have made a little under on stock TB so it shouldnt be and issue. But there have been many issues with aftermarket TB's binding etc so if you do get one do some research on which to get. The Mustang TB would probably be one of the better options.

I was going to say you could have bought one of my old TBs on egay, but it just sold..
Most of the aftermarket TBs that Iv'e seen don't come with a tps, you have to install your old one. As far as the tps being calibrated for the throttle it's on, I doubt it, I think they're basically just a linear voltage change vs degree change.

uhhhh...

you caliberate the TPS yourself.. if yours has the star head bolts just loosen them and you will notice it moves side to side.. then youll have to match up the volatage for closed and full throttle, dont remember them at the moment, have to look in the book downstairs..

otherwise if yours is riveted on then youll need to drill the heads off them and replace with some bolts.

I guess my post was going off on a different angle, I was just saying that I don't think tps' are different between different honda throttle bodies. Calibrating/adjusting the tps is easy..
