Default engine swap problem

i have a 94 civic si. i have a 99 gsr motor. i have a problem. i have asked many different people on how to make the 99 motor work with the car without cutting and splicing all through the 99 engine wiring harness. i have also aquired an obd-1 gsr ecu. any help would much appreciated.

Two ways: Easy and hard.

Easy: Plug the GSR harness into your harness as is and get a P28 "kenji" spec ECU with GSR appropriate maps.

More details should be available from B18C5-EH2. IM him for more details - he has done this.

Hard (but right) - convert the 99 spec to 95 spec. Get an OBD-I distributor, or "re-pin" the distributor to OBD-I specs (sorry, I can't tell you how to do that, either). Use a 95 GSR harness, and 95 GSR O2 sensor, and plug it right up.

I BELIEVE, although I don't know for sure, that the Si already has the knock sensor. I CANNOT find it in my 1992 Helms service manual, so I could be full of crap. The worst thing that could happen is you'd have to wire one wire from the engine harness to the ECU.

My $0.02? I did it the hard way. This was more parts, and might be more difficult. I didn't know about the easy way, and I think that might be worth doing, rather than the hard way.

i'm a little late on this one so bare with me, you should convert everything from 99 to 95... after that its plug and play.... saves you the headache
