Should i get aftermarket keepers for my GSR head ?
Im rebuilding my head & im not sure if i should go with OEM keepers or with an aftermarket brand ! Ive been told that the OEM's are really strong but id like to get a couple different opinions ! This will be a turbo set-up & im going for 600whp ! Also a daily driver too ! Any help would be much appreciated! Thanx

Supertech makes 10 degree keepers that are only compatible with thier valvetrain
Manley makes 7 degree keepers that work with OEM parts and most aftermarket (provided they are 7 degree)
The difference between OEM and aftermarket in this instance is OEM are made from stamped steel, aftermarket are machined which is stronger and possibly more durable. I say possibly because OEM stuff lasts 100K or more for a reason....but that is a different issue.
Care to explain why this is in the ITR forum?

^^truth. Many many motors were build before the option to replace with aftermarket keepers arose. They've held up perfectly, aside from the occasional faulty installation. Good luck?

im just curious on how many people who have claimed high HP cars (i mean, 600hp is a freakin lot, 'specially for FWD) actually went through with it, and also achieved their high number. and kept it drivable.

No need for another car or public trans. Its not like im leaving the boost @ 20 psi ! Boost will be low for daily driving ! And my friend had a 500whp civic thats a daily driver as well !
Believe it or not...plent have done it & you just met me...... ill be doing that easily ! 600WHP isnt too bad for a fully built motor ...... it is a lot of hp but it can be done & ill be doing it

haha everything in my engine is all original (engine has never been opened up except for the valve cover off for various things), and I've got 260K on the clock!
