I'd stick with OEM but honestly for the price pick whatever works best for YOU!

I tend to think it's best to stay OEM for parts like these unless they are outrageously more expensive. Usually they are worth the premium, however.

OEM Icm's are expensive
Last time I was at the junkyard I grabbed a few for my CL just in case due to the cost of the OEM unit.
Looks like an OE unit from Advance or Pep Boys is around $100.

IDK what ICMs cost. If it's like $300 vs $100 I'd definitely go aftermarket. If it's $150 vs $100, that's harder to say...

you should only be using oem ignition parts. if you want your car to run right and long, thats what you get. so many problems with aftermarket ignitors and coils. i think its about 180 for an ICM from acuraoemparts.com.

Yeah, the ICM is expensive. Its almost the same cost as a rebuilt distributor, which I paid almost $300 for. But I used oem parts the two times I had distributor problems. Thinking about switching to coils in the future so I won't have to worry about the distributor ever again.
