Default About to start my H2B buildup on my eh2

ok guys, my 1995 cx hatch is in need of an engine removal now. I will be doing the H2B with a sir tranny. I will be getting the evo kit and need to know where you guys bought yours. also need a bit of advice and help on piecing out the whole swap.

parts to get:

Evo Kit
Jdm 1992-1995 OBD1 H22
B16 Tranny
New clutch
Axels
*ECU
Modified h22 header
full exhaust

BTW for the ECU after searches i hear a chipped p28 is best. will it run ok if i can find a stock manual p28 and run on it for a while? let me know if im missing anything else from the list and what to look out for

Thanks in advance

Buy it straight from Evolution. As far as I know that's the only place

The Evo kit and the QSD kit have their pro's and cons.

For example the QSD kit sits higher, has a tad more room for possible a/c.

The Evo kit however does come with nice mounts and they're shiny?

Really it comes down to how much you want to pay for what features. The QSD does seem to be more popular due to the lower price.

Evolution has sort of competed with that with their "half-moon" adapter plate kit at ~$700 to compare with the QSD kit at $750.

I don't think it's necessarily a con or pro, just how "complete" of a kit you want.

The $1300 kit includes good mounts, and all the nuts and bolts that make the swap different from a b-series. So it's peace of mind.

If it's not very far. Sure. But you can modify the header on your own with a Grill and a pry bar.

I helped a friend bend his and I even got some free hot dogs.

Open header is better than no header. And while you're at it, I would modify the collector to a 2.5" or 2.25" whichever your exhaust mechanic dude can handle.

the stock collector is 2.0" right? and lets say if i do it to a 2.5" can i run 2.25" all the way back or is it necessary to run 2.5" or 3.0" all the way back to muffler? BTW exhaust is now added up top

I think you're right. Unless you have big plans, 2.25" collector with a 2.25" exhaust should be plenty. Might want to ask some actual h22 owners though, I've read a few postings that claim they wish they'd gone with a 2.5"

I think i'll just do it right the first time and go with 2.5". Thanks for input

Excited to see how it turns out.

Being that it's going to take me another year or so to save for my swap (hoping) I'm debating if the Evo kit I would like more. I'm trying to make an h2b a/c compatible, I have a mechanic who's good with custom a/c lines. I need to do a little more research on clearances with the different kits.

D-series alternator bracket is common. Any more questions should be looked into here:

Many of the common h2b questions have already been answered.
