Re: Horn Hook up with quick release (b18ctrb)
i had a problem with this as well.. now i have no horn.
but.
i have seen some wucikrelease hubs out there that have prewire horn wires, that operate the same why the slock spring would.. (allows you to turn without binding and twisting wires.) if that doesnt work you can add a univeral button somewhere and hide it just for inspection i am going to change the srping mechanism behind the ac button on my 92 hatch to just push and release without locking on so i can wire a button up to that.
just do some research itll behoove you to do so.
goodluck

all you need to do is take the horn wire and connect it to one of the tabs on the back of the nrg release, then take the other tab and ground it to the quick release body using one of the rings that should have come with the quick release.

the horn wire is connected to the srs unit there are 2 connectors one for srs and another for the horn and cruise control.
the one with the yellow connector is for the srs the other one is gray. the wires coming into the connector from the harness is gray the one going to the srs unit on mine and according to the service manual is blue with a green stripe for the horn.
all you have to do is attach an electrical splicer about an inch below the connector that is supposed to go into the srs unit from there add a female spade connector to approximently 6 inches of wire and run up underneath the colum and ignition use a wire clamp to secure the wire firmly to the colum using the exsisting srs mounting brackets. from the spade connector use a flat pen top arm straightened out u may want to bend it so it has a little bit of pressure pointed in the direction of the hub. once the wire and spade connector are secure push the pen arm under the hub for contact then ur done. if you wired it correctly u should be able to put ur steering wheel on and the horn should work. if you have any problems with this install send me a message and ill try to help you as best i can. i just did this to my 96 works like a champ just need a new louder horn.
i will be taking pictures this weekend so keep your eyes open
