Default HONDA CBR250RR

I am looking into purchasing my first bike.
I have my eyes on the CBR250RR (mc22) but I dont see many around and I hear they are more expensive than the CBR250R (mc19).
If anyone owns any of these bikes could you tell me the differences, and your general feeling of these bikes.

Are they any fun????
Can you turbocharge them??

i dont know anything about the bike because they arnt sold here as far as i know. as for slappin a turbo on there, its always possible but that is a horrible waste of time, money, effort, and money. start with a reasonable bike, when you want something faster, change the gearing, or move up to a 600 supersport. it is much much much cheaper to buy a super sport then to tune a slow bike to perform like one.

Honda designs the bottom ends of their bikes to handle what it makes from the factory. there isn't alot of power left in the motors as it is (unless you boost of course) so to make them lighter and cheaper they dont overbuild them. like the guy said when you outgrow it dont try and get more out of it, just get a 600.

Get a Dental Drill and be done with it.

800,000 RPM REDLINE

you need to get your priorities straightened out before getting a bike

A 250 is usually a good place to start but talking about how high they rev an slapping a turbo on one. I think you should just stay with cars, you’re less likely to die

Most jap 250 Racing Replicas were made until 1999 as far as I know of.

I know firsthand that the Kawa ZXR250 (or ZX-2R in some markets) will rev pretty high, redline is 20k.

why don't you learn how to ride first before worrying about how fast you can impale yourself into the side of a bridge.

So, OP why do you want the bike to rev so high? That surely will not be good for the internals, are you planning to rebuild it every few thousand miles or so?

How fast is your expletiveing civic?!

Seriously. You need to get your stuff in order before you buy a bike, because you're obviously just looking to kill yourself.

well those bikes i mentioned come with a high redline from the factory so i dont think ill hafta rebuild it that often or they wouldnt have designed the bikes to be that way.. right?

well i havent taken it to the track yet cuz i only got the turbo put on at the end of november but its 290whp, i would like the bike to at least be able to keep up with it..
and trying to prevent myself from getting killed it one reason im NOT getting a bigger bike.. or i will take it to the end of the speedo.. the bikes i mentioned top out around 180km/h

Any of the 250 JDM racing replicas will provide you with your high RPM fever and also provide a nice bike to learn the ropes. So just pick the one you like the most and also the one that's in the best condition. I don't know how easy or hard is to find replacement parts for them there in Canada (I know they are a grey market import in north america).

I would advice for you to get your priorities first, then get a bike. If not, even in a bicycle you can get hurt.

The engines on those 250's have been made to supposedly last 50.000 kms of stratatosferic RPM's, so you should been okay if you take good care of it.

Just get a 1000cc sportbike. If you don't want to go fast just don't twist your wrist all the way. Pretty simple. If small bikes are so great why don't you see Rossi racing them? Try to argue with that logic.
