What does the middle relay above the interior fuse panel control? RC-2225
It's a power relay that seems to make my car able to crank when I push on it. I found this by feeling which relays clicked when I was turning the key to start when the starter would just click. I swapped it with a spare I had and the car fired up.
Either my original one, or the fuse panel itself seems to be affected by either length of time the car is running or when the interior gets warm enough that it shuts down this relay or affects the contacts it's attached to. If I let the car sit for a few hours, it cranks up fine.

the relay the "clicks" when your starting the car is actually the main relay assembly wich is also located under there....so if the problem is when the car is either hot or cold replace the main relay and you should be good to go unless you have another problem
It's not the main relay, that was the first thing I swapped. Same thing with both main relays.
The middle relay, directly above the small fuses, is called the Intergrated Control Unit. It is a large, square-shaped relay for various electrical functions. Regarding your original question though, it appears that this relay is not the cause of the problem you're experiencing.
Not that part, this is a relay that's mounted to the top of the fusebox. There's what looks like a light relay or a hazard relay, this relay and another one mounted there also.
I looked on Ebay to see what the back of the fuse box looks like and to me it looks like the relays aren't actually part of the fusebox, but are mounted to it with the connections running behind it.
Two days ago I had to push on the relay to get the car to start, yesterday it started fine. I must have just had a bad connection there, so when I get time, I'll pull the fuse box away enough for me to make sure the connection is secure and clean.
