Chill. You're going to see VTEC spelled lots of ways here. If you already can't stand it, this might not be the place for you.

And yes, always check the code if you can. OBDI is usually not as easy to get checked / costs money instead of free at Autozone.

it just kills me, bc it is something so obvious, and the famous thing for honda's,
and I assume he's been in the engine bay and can read the valve cover.

not eaven to mention that he must not know what v.t.e.c. stands for.

but yea

Do you know what it stands for? Because what it stands for leads one to believe it should be called VVTLEC.

Also, since you're so up on spelling, you might want to check what 's means, especially when applied to the cars you enjoy so much.

no, I actually get on here for technical help with my car and other things,
I am just tired of reading "I cant figure out why vtec won't work on my stock d16"

I am not talking about basic grammer and that type of ****,
I am saying you thought vtec was spelt with a H,
if its a typo then thats fine.
spelling words is one thing,
mis spelling the initials of something that is quite obvious is another.

look about 10 threads up, you will see another person spelling it vtecH

and I did give you a tip,
check the solenoid and the pressure switch

Honestly, who cares if he misspelled it? We all knew what he meant. Someone probably told him to spell it this way in the beginning.

No need to insult him over it though.

Just let it go and let's let the thread go on with suggestions.

This is just another thread that proves why I wish this site would automatically change "VTECH" to "VTEC" just like it changes "****" to "expletive".

why would you pay somebody to retrieve DTC's on an OBD1 honda when anybody with a paperclip can do it??? thats rediculous

OP: pull the code yourself, report back with trouble code.

I replied with what most normal people would do because poking their car with a paper clip scares them. I work in auto parts all day, so it's just the answer I'm used to giving.

So the code ended up to be 21. So I got some obd1 codes off a site"21 92-95 Civic
93-95 Prelude
94+ Integra VTEC Solenoid Valve defective circuit or unplugged / defective solenoid valve". Is this correct info?
