Default high12's whats needed

I have a 1990 civic si with a b16a and DC 4-1 header. Should I sell that motor and buy a b18c1 motor and build that up or should I stay with my b16a. I know with bolt on's and slicks I could probably run high or mid 13 with the b16a. So what should I do. I'm going all motor.

if you can get the weight down to like 2000, and find a way to make 230hp (high compression) youll run low 12's with a driver and tires

I will bet if you drop a turbo kit on the b16 motor and drive your car right with some slicks...you could net a 12 sec. et.

I was thinking the same thing. Those cars are very light and with the stock motor and some good tunning you can get into the 12's with maybe 10psi.

Since you are going all motor, I would suggest going with a b18c1 block, some high compression pistons, and the b16a head with some headwork and a nice valve train..... voila you have a built "Type R" motor. My homeboy did this and it went 12.80 in a full bodied coupe with full interior.

all motor: keep the head, add springs retainers and aggressive cams. get a ls block and bore it to 86mm. keep the b16 tranny. run 12's easy, probably on street tires.

turbo: get a drag kit, 440 injectors, inlinepro headgasket, race fuel, slicks, blah, blah,.........run 11's. on stock b16 block and ecu.

supercharger: why bother?!
