Driving with no down pipe?
I just ordered the last remaining parts for my turbo. My question is that once its all put together. Can I drive it on a base map with no down pipe to get one made (the tuner is there as well)?
you answered you own question:
you should NOT drive on a basemap; too much potential for problems; a basemap is to get your tune in the right scope.

If you can't hold your hand 6" away from it for a minute, then its not drivable. You'll see 900F+ gasses coming from it while idling, and 1100F+ minimum while lightly cruising.

Just ask yourself this:
After all the time and money you've put into the car, you're going to risk it all (not just the motor/turbo setup, but the car itself) to save $100 on a tow?

i have mine tuned, but am upgrading a few things right now ( downpipe, intake manifold, throttle body, etc...). I have already secured a truck and trailer to tow it to get re-tuned becuase i do not want to put any unnecessary stress on the engine ( if that tells you anything ).
