Default Damn! I can't shift into reverse. Doesn't go into the gate!

Well, the last problem to fix on my Integra. haha ... never ends.

I can't shift into reverse. Meaning - I can't even get the shifter into the reverse gate. Basically, I push the shifter to the right and down ... and it doesn't go down!

All forward gears work though.

Any possible solutions?

I have absolutely no clue how this happened. I had the engine rebuilt, which took like 3 months, and then it doesn't go into reverse.

Now, I did have the car towed a few times when it was done. AAA was the towing company. I feel they might at fault. I may give them a call ...

I called up my local Acura dealership and A&H motorsports. Acura wouldn't even touch it. Said just to buy a new tranny. A&H said anywhere from $600 to $1800.

I can't even drive the car ... hah ... NO FREAKING REVERSE!

Where do you guys go for the tranny work?

Should I just sell my tranny and buy a used one?

Adam

did you try the first then reverse method, then try doing it with out the car being on and what do you get?

If it goes in while the car is off then start in in reverse just hold the clutch in and see what the result is.

Sometimes I can't get it into reverse either, even after I have tried the "1st then reverse" and the "2nd then reverse", so what I have to do is take my foot off the clutch, and then step on it again, and it goes into reverse with ease.

Mine did this too... Acura first thought it was the syncros. Put new gears and Syncros in, and out it back together. Still wouldn't go in. Found out it was a slightly bend shift fork. Couldnt even see it by looking at it. Ryan

You guys are all assuming that nothing is fugged in the tranny.. with a honda tranny.. that's not the best assumption..

Damn Craig, it's a good thing you broke your right foot, and not your left backing foot...

Well I am in Boca Raton for the summer.

I know about the 1st to reverse method. I did it all the time. This time there is actually something wrong with the tranny.

try putting in reverse , then let the clucth out a little bit, and tap the gas .if that dont work then theres a issue. or if you have a short shifter try putting the stock one back on

It doesn't work even when the car is shut off?
