ls vtec or gsr motor for turbo?
hey all i got a integra gsr with TURBO.
i made 290whp on 11psi with pistons rods combo.
60 trim turbo
440cc injectors/
tuned with chrome
tail wg
2.5" spoolin dp
spoolin log manifold or blox log manifold
type r intake manifold
2.5" exhaust
greddy rs bov
28x3x9 intercooler
i ran 13.6 at the tracks cuz i MESSED up the launch.
VIDEO!
ANOTHER
anyway i blew my gsr motor. KEEPING IN MIND THAT MY NEW BLOCK WILL HAVE PISTONS RODS AND SLEEVES AND ILL PROLLY PUSH 18psi. what block should i get?
the ls block with pistons, rods, and sleevs, and a gsr head?
or another gsr block with pistons rods and sleeves?
or will it basicly be the same setup?

SO BASICLY 18psi on lsvtec or gsr motor?
by the way my type r intake manifold wont fit on the ls huh?

it will fit as long as he doesn't go w/ a gsr head
i'm with building the b18b motor and boosting that, unless you wanna spend alot fo cash to make a boosted ls/v reliable
or pick up another gsr motor...but ou might end up in the same boat down the road

The LS will be cheaper to buy initially. Since you're building the motor, the only advantage to having a GSR is the shorter rod/stroke ratio. But since you're building it, that doesn't really matter any way.
You will have wasted less money on the LS. You wont feel as bad when it blows up.

if he has to buy a whole new motor the ls would be cheaper, but if he still has the gsr head, i would get the gsr block.
you can make more power out of the gsr, if you are planning on taking it that far

I never really understood why people put body kits that dont even fit correctly on their car. I know some people like the look, but if it doesn't even fit right, why do it? Care to enlighten me buster?

why would he do that when he already has a vtec head, and a gsr transmission, along with good gsr rods/crank... he cracked a sleeve on his gsr which is why he was wondering which block he should go with to sleeve it

Id boost the ls simply because it doesnt have vtec. an ls has more compression than a gsr. keep the ls tranny too, or a gsr tranny would do good with slicks

your wrong, the gsr has more compression stock, but that doesnt even matter since he is replacing the pistons anyway, he can make it whatever compression he wants. besides a vtec will always flow better than an ls head.

Sorry, I meant lower compression. Turbos love low compression. Or if he wants he can do teh gsr with a set of vtec kkiller cams and do high comp pistons and have a dope *** set up

Turbos love high compression too, less boost and more power
